Aloha friends! This weekend on Maui brings some great music and community options. ProArts Maui offering a donation-based yoga class Friday morning. Saturday is the continuation of the Jazz Maui series and on Sunday, Eric Gilliom’s “White Hawaiian” is back weekly by popular demand. South Maui Gardens is hosting their 2nd Saturday party with musical guest Wavetrain. And finally, Maui’s favorite musicians collaborate on a jam session at the Coffee Attic to celebrate Uncle Don’s birthday this Saturday night.
Today we celebrate Veteran’s Day. We take time to honor the men and women that serve our country and protect our freedom. Especially in light of current events, the heroic sacrifices they make for everything we have become so obvious. Let’s be sure that while we are enjoying our BBQs and time with our loved ones that we remember who made it possible.
South Maui Gardens 2nd Saturday
South Maui Gardens – Hidden Oasis of Kihei hosts a community party every second Saturday of the month. This is a BYOB event and features eight local favorite food trucks. Also on deck this weekend is Lahaina’s own Wavetrain with live music and dancing from 6 – 8 pm. This is a free event, but reservations are recommended. You can reserve your spot at Eventbrite 2nd Saturdays Tickets.
Uncle Don’s Birthday Jam Session
Maui’s favorite musicians are gathering this Saturday night at the Coffee Attic to celebrate Uncle Don’s Birthday. This Jam Session will be the first in a series of improv shows Uncle Don is putting together. Show starts at 6:00 pm. Joining him also from the Willie K. Band, Avi Ronen on guitar, Danyel Alana on guitar and vocal, Vince Esquire on whatever he wants to play, and Chris Dack on drums and vocals. This is sure to be an amazing night of music.
ProArts Playhouse Maui
ProArts Playhouse is offering a donation-based yoga class for the arts community. Classes to be held every Friday at 11 am. Award winning trumpeter DeShannon Higa is the special guest this Saturday themed Resilience. This is part of the bi-monthly series with Jazz Maui. Show Show starts at 7:30 pm. Tickets run $20-35. Sunday night brings the return of Eric Gilliom’s White Hawaiian”. This show is so in-demand that is will be featured weekly on Sundays. Start time this week is 3:00 pm.
