Maui Weekend Events – January 12

Aloha friends! This weekend on Maui has some great live music options in the cards. South Maui Gardens hosts their 2nd Saturday party featuring Gilliom and Esquire. Rowdy Love plays Mulligan’s Saturday night. ProArts Maui also offers some great music with slack-key masters this Friday night. On Sunday afternoon, Eric Gilliom’s “White Hawaiian” takes the stage. And in keeping with the music theme, the Maui Nui Botanical Gardens is putting on a workshop on the ʻohe hano ihu (nose flute) and pūʻohe (bamboo trumpet) this Saturday morning.

South Maui Gardens 2nd Saturday

South Maui Gardens – Hidden Oasis of Kihei hosts a community party every Second Saturday of the month. This event features eight local favorite food trucks. This weekend Gilliom and Esquire deliver live music and dancing from 6 – 8 pm. A Night Market featuring local Maui artisans and vendors will be on display this weekend as well. This is a free event.

Rowdy Love at Mulligan’s

Rowdy Love plays Mulligan’s on the Blue this Saturday night. Show starts at 7:30 pm. Rowdy Love is a full band playing Americana/Rockabilly. The dance floor will be open. Tickets $15. It is recommended that you also reserve a table if you’d like one.

Maui Nui Botanical Gardens Workshop

Maui Nui Botanical Gardens is hosting an ʻOhe Hano Ihu (Nose Flute) & Pūʻohe (Bamboo Trumpet) Workshop this Saturday morning. Workshop runs from 9 – 11 am. Participants will learn the uses and stories behind the ʻohe hano ihu (nose flute) and pūʻohe (bamboo trumpet). They will then make their own instruments and learn how to play them. This workshop is family-friendly with the minimum age being 5 years old.

ProArts Playhouse Maui

ProArts Playhouse and Mana’o Radio present George Kahumoku Jr, Daniel Ho & Tia Carrere this Friday night. These slack key masters are sure to delight. Show starts at 7:30 pm. Sunday afternoon you can catch the local favorite Eric Gilliom’s “White Hawaiian”. This show is so in demand that it is featured weekly on Sundays. Start time this week is 3:00 pm.
