Maui Weekend Events – February 23

Aloha friends! This weekend on Maui has some great comedy and music options, as well as a chance to support childhood literacy with a circus-themed evening. Night Circus by Book Trust takes place this Sunday Night. Henry Kapono hosts his Artist 2 Artist Series this Friday night. ProArts Maui brings you Recorrido by Tanama Colibri also on Friday night. Saturday and Sunday nights offer comedic relief with Free Range Comedy on Saturday night. On Sunday night, it is the Maui Improv Monthly Showcase.

Night Circus by Book Trust

Support childhood literacy and celebrate with an evening of food, drinks, and spectacles. Book Trust presents Night Circus. Festivities take place this Sunday night from 5:00 – 9:00 pm at the King Kamehameha Golf Club. The theme for the night is inspired by Erin Morgenstern’s The Night Circus. Tickets include dinner, a limited open bar, and spectacular performances. There are a few different contribution and donation levels.

Henry Kapono’s Artist 2 Artist

The Artist 2 Artist series continues at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center with a new Hawaii Legends Edition. Playing at the McCoy Studio Theater this Friday at 7:30 pm. This edition, Henry hosts slack key master and singer Keola Beamer. Show also features Moanalani Beamer and special guest Anthony Pfluke.

ProArts Playhouse Maui

Tanama Colibri presents Recorrido on Friday night. Recorrido is a musical journey of styles from the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, and Argentina. Featuring Liz Moralez on guitar, Nuno Aviles on bass, Jeff Hellmer on keys, and Paul Marchetti on drums. Show starts at 7:30 pm. Saturday night features Free Range Comedy. This is an improv troupe specializing in short-form improv a la “Who’s Line is it Anyway?” Show starts at 7:30 and seating at 7:00 pm. Sunday night you can catch the Maui Improv Monthly Showcase. Maui Improv is nominated Maui’s best theater company. They present at ProArts Maui the last Sunday of every month.  Show starts 7:00 pm. Doors open at 6:30 pm.
