Maui Weekend Events – April 5

Aloha friends! This weekend on Maui has a great lineup in store for you. Wanda Sykes delivers her Please & Thank You tour at the MACC’s Castle Theater. Kinky Boots closes this weekend at ProArts Maui. Sierra Club is leading a hike down the Old Haleakala Trail. And Sunset Jazz at the Ku’ia Estates in Lahaina is a fine way to close out the weekend.

Wanda Sykes: Please & Thank You Tour

Wanda Sykes brings her Please & Thank You tour to Maui. She will be holding down the Castle Theater at the MACC this Friday night. Show starts at 7:30. Doors open and pre-concert food and beverage available at 5:30 pm. This event will be a collection site for the Maui Food Bank. Donations benefit our neighbors affected by the wildfires.

Kinky Boots at ProArts Maui

Be sure to catch the biggest show ProArts Maui has produced. Kinky Boots closes this weekend. This musical won six Tonys including Best Musical, the Grammy for Best Musical Theatre album and London’s Olivier Award for Best Musical. Music and Lyrics by Cyndi Lauper. Book by Harvey Fierstein. Showtimes Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm.

Sierra Club Hike – Old Haleakala Trail

Hike the old Haleakala Trail this Saturday morning. Meet up time is 8:00 am at the Waihou Spring Trailhead near the top of Olinda Road. Shuttle to the top then hike down. Hike is 5 miles and almost all downhill. This hike is rated moderate/strenuous. There are some steep gulch traversals and rocky areas in the beginning but mostly pastureland. Sunset Jazz at the Ku’ia Estates

The Ku’ia Estates in Lahaina that offer chocolate tastings and tours throughout the week bring you Sunset Jazz on Sunday evenings from 5 – 7 pm. The performances take place under the cover of a 2,000 square foot pavilion atop the Maui Ku’ia Estate Chocolate Factory. Options for chocolate flights and cheese plates as well as a beautiful wine menu. Proceeds benefit Jazz Maui’s music education programs.
