What is Maui Tropical Plantation?

Maui Tropical Plantation is located in Waikapu, on the road heading from Kihei towards Lahaina. The property covers over 60 acres and is home to a wide variety of tropical plants, including fruits, flowers, and trees.

I just love the history that you’ll find here… All of the decor is part of old Wailuku, and it’s part of the Old Mill House. They’ve got the old railroad car/locomotive right inside of the restaurant it’s sitting on the tracks. They use all the old metal that was part of the historical plantation that used to be here, ran and operated when we had sugar cane and pineapples here on Maui. There are some signs throughout the property explaining the history and it is so interesting to learn about the history of Maui.

A Great Place to Spend the Day

They’ve done a beautiful job here at the Maui Tropical Plantation. It’s really a great space to just come and hang out; You could probably spend a couple hours here just enjoying the beauty of Central Maui. It’s located right at the base of the West Maui Mountain.

It is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the tourist parts of the island it’s just a really great place to just come and explore. Another detail is there’s a big old Farm windmill in the property. I’m just really stoked to have been able to spend some time here. Maui is beautiful everywhere, but I have to tell you, if you’re just looking for something to do for a couple of hours, come out of the Maui Tropical Plantation and check it out.
