Kuilima East on Oahu’s North Shore

There are a lot of reasons to love Oahu’s north shore. If you enjoy hiking, golfing, horseback riding, surfing, swimming, and sunbathing, you’ll love the north shore. And, if you want to make the north shore your permanent or second home, there are some great options. Let me tell you about my own personal favorite — Kuilima Estates East.

Located on the North Shore of Oahu

Kuilima Estates East is located on the world-renowned North Shore of Oahu — 11 miles from the historic town of Haleiwa. Many of Oahu’s great surfing beaches are found right along the two-way road between Haleiwa and Kuilima Estates East. But, even if you aren’t a surfer, there is something for everyone at Kuilima Estates East. For example, if  you like to hike, you can walk along the ocean from beautiful Kawela Bay to Kahuku Point. You might even spot a Hono (Green Sea Turtle) and maybe even a Monk Seal or two. You can also walk inland along the border of the wildlife preserve. But, be careful. You might encounter a wild boar like we did!

Watersports and Golfing

My husband and I love Kuilima Estates East and spend many long weekends enjoying the beauty of this place. If you come for a visit or decide to buy one of the 162 units consisting of studios, one, and two bedrooms, you’ll be in the perfect spot to swim, hike, and play. If you enjoy stand-up paddle, kayaking, or snorkeling, you’ll find that Kuilima and the surrounding area is the place for water-sports enthusiasts. And, of course, there is always golf! You’ll have two courses to choose from — the Arnold Palmer and the Fazio.

Places to Eat

There are lots of places to eat, though our favorite eatery is Lei Lei’s, which is located right next to the golf course pro shop. You’ll want to try their fish sandwich — it’s the best. If you are looking for additional eateries, the Turtle Bay Resort is only a quarter of a mile away. You can take a short stroll and dine at one of the many great restaurants. Our personal favorite is Roy’s Beach House. We love the open-air vibe and the ocean view.

Available at Kulima Estates East

Kuilima Estates East is a privately owned gated community. The management is great and the amenities are wonderful. You can enjoy the use of two saltwater pools, barbecues, a recreation center, and a tennis court. It’s pet-friendly, too!

Currently, there are only a handful of available listings at Kuilima East. Prices range from $799,000 to $1,500,000. No matter where you live at Kuilima East Estates, you can’t go wrong. This really is a special community and truly one of north shore Oahu’s sweet spots.

We are currently staying at Kuilima West with our family. We have stayed here several times over the last 15 years with our family. We are interested in properties at either Kuilima East or West. Our price range would be between $750K and $1M. Do you have a contact for a local realtor that could assist us?
