New Condo Development in Honolulu

An exciting new condominium opportunity is now unfolding in the Moiliili neighborhood of urban Honolulu. While we’ve seen a flurry of new development in the Kakaako area in the last several years, this project at the gateway to Diamond Head – the transition between the University and Kapahulu neighborhoods – is notable in several ways. Developer Kobayashi Group is a kama’aina family-run company with strong roots in construction and a reputation for quality. The company has made a commitment to support Oahu’s housing needs with a range of offerings, from luxury high rise residences to mixed use, all-affordable rentals. With purchasing criteria highly favoring owner-occupants, this project is uniquely aimed at local residents and is an outstanding opportunity to own a home in town.

1,005 Total Condo Units

The 43-story and 12-story towers on 4599 Kapiolani Boulevard is estimated to have a 2026 completion date and will consist of 1,005 residential condo units. 60% of the total unit count (or 603 units) will be reserved for first-time buyers making between 80% and 140% of the area median income (guidelines set by Hawaii Housing Finance Development Corporation, a state agency, using federal median income tables). The remaining 402 units will be sold as market-rate units. There will be a mix of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom floor plans. A 13-story parking garage will hold 1600 parking spaces. This pet-friendly development will boast over 50,000 square feet of open space (including 2 dog parks), swimming/lap pool, children’s play area, walking paths, 2 fitness centers, cabanas, and even a karaoke room. Most residents will have panoramic Mauka or Makai views from floor-to-ceiling windows, and can enjoy two private dining rooms on the top floor which have sunset views.

Thoughtful Interior Design

Award-winning local architectural firm Design Partners has retained equally esteemed interior design firm Philpotts Interiors to fulfill Kobayashi Group’s vision of ‘elevated kamaaina living.’ Sprinkled with thoughtful details and high-end finishes, Kuilei utilizes natural light and a contemporary theme, expressed in buyer’s choice of two finish concepts (a light or darker color palette) and features Bosch appliances, luxury vinyl plank flooring and quartz countertops. Original curated art in the common spaces, as well as native landscaping, bring touches normally found in luxury developments.
