Kapalua Bay Beach in Maui is No. 1 Beach in the US

When it comes to the world’s best beaches, Hawaii, specifically, Maui, (almost) always make the list. If those rankings are narrowed down the beaches in the United States, Maui is guaranteed to make the list. And Kapalua Bay Beach is there, again, in 2018!

CNN recently published two lists:

It’s no surprise that Maui, Hawaii, holds the No. 1 spot on the Best Beaches in the US (Kapalua Bay Beach, Maui, Hawaii) and No. 8 post on the World’s Best Nude Beaches (Little Beach, Maui, Hawaii).

Let’s start with the No. 1 Beach in the US – Kapalua Bay Beach, Maui, Hawaii

Kapalua Bay Beach. Maui, Hawaii

Kapalua Bay Beach – This “west side” beach is simply stunning. The white-sand beach is cove-like – its protectors are ancient lava flows jutting into the ocean. The calm, crystal blue water is teeming with tropical fish and, if you’re lucky, sea turtles (honu). With parking, concessions, and restrooms, it’s an ideal spot to spend the day.

If you’re feeling (much) more adventurous, No. 7 on the 15 of the World’s Best Nude Beaches – Little Beach, Maui, Hawaii

Little Beach Maui Hawaii

Little Beach, Maui, Hawaii

On the “south side” of Maui, close to Wailea and Kihei, lies Little Beach (next door to Big Beach). This secluded beach is guarded by massive lava formations rising out of the ocean and backed by an ancient forest. It’s part of Makena State Park and overlooks a national marine sanctuary. It is one of the best places on Maui to watch the sunset, and it’s well-known by locals for its drum circles and fire dancers that entertain the crowd during Sunday sunsets.
