Kahilu Gold Concert at Cape at Mauna Lani Resort

Last Friday evening the third of the 2018 Kahilu Gold Concert series took place at a private residence at the Cape at Mauna Lani, the gated beachfront community of only 14 properties adjacent to the Mauna Lani Beach Club. Kahilu Theatre patrons who attended all three events this year also experienced world-class artists in intimate settings at Kalaemano ʻo Kaʻupulehu, and Kaunaʻoa at Mauna Kea Resort.

Single Family Homes For Sale Near the Mauna Lani Beach Club

Hawaii Life sponsored the Gold Concerts this year, and after the show, a number of us went next door to the Mauna Lani Beach Club for more music and libations, which got us to thinking about the closest homes and condos to the amenities at the Beach Club.

There are currently no lots or homes listed within the Cape at Mauna Lani. The nearest single family home for sale would be just inland at Mauna Lani Point Estates, where there is a Lucky Bennett designed residence listed for $2,950,000.

The new Residences at Laulea are also an easy drive or golf cart ride to the Beach Club, as are homes at 49 Black Sand Beach.

If you look carefully at the first photo of the concert, you will see some buildings in the upper left background. That would be the oceanfront buildings at Mauna Lani Point, one of the two “walk to the beach” condominium communities at the Mauna Lani Resort (the other being Mauna Lani Terrace).

At the time of my September post about Mauna Lani Point, there were only three active listings. Today there are 10 active listings and three condos in escrow. This level of activity is quite a contrast with the scene when the market recovery was just beginning back in 2013. My analysis five years ago showed remarkable stability in pricing; the number of sales has increased but oceanfront holds its value.

If you are content to get your sunset viewing at the Mauna Lani Point amenity area or the Beach Club, the 1 bedroom unit in Building H is a bargain at $699,000 compared with ocean view and oceanfront condos (MLS 609254). If you want an ocean and sunset view, I love the expanded and beautifully renovated ground floor 2 bedroom in Building F asking $1,980,000 (MLS 610520).

Just listed in the past two weeks are two penthouse units in Building E, with those expansive ocean views, for $2,195,000 (MLS 614975) and $2,395,000 (MLS 615311).
