Kahala is one of Oahu’s luxury real estate markets. The homes and estates in this area can range in price with the estates lining Kahala beach, being some of the most desirable properties on the island.
Here are some facts about the background of this luxury neighborhood:
- Kahala and Waialae were built on old pig farms and duck ponds after WWI.
- One of the earliest dirt roads came to be known as Farmer’s Road.
- In 1925, there were 35 telephone listings in Kahala.
Much has changed in the last 80 years in this beautiful ocean side community. A few of Oahu’s most luxurious estates line Kahala Beach. Here are a few of my favorites on the market now:
4714 Kahala Avenue
4714 Kahala Ave., listed at $3,480,000, has a good sized lot of 13,966 sq. ft. and interior of 3,441 sq. ft. It is laid out in an “L” shape with a pool and natural stone waterfall accenting the courtyard. It has a spacious stone patio deck, media room, and meticulous landscaping.
4649 Aukai Ave.
4649 Aukai Ave., listed at $5,950,000. The home is expansive at 5,605 sq. ft. The double lot is much larger than the average Kahala lot at 22,710 sq. ft. It has a large lanai, yard, and tropical pool. The large lot gives the estate a country feeling with island-style landscaping and tiki torches lighting the property.
