1. Find a Great Realtor
Working with a trained and skilled professional makes all the difference. Every transaction is unique unto itself and, there might be unexpected twists and turns on the way to the finish line. You will want to work with an individual who knows how to problem solve in a calm manner, and someone who is responsive.
2. Curb Appeal
Stand on the sidewalk in front of your home and take a good look at it with fresh eyes. How does everything appear? Does the grass need to be cut? Is there any clutter that can be removed from the doorstep? Do the roof and gutters need to be cleared off and cleaned out? Making a statement with fresh and clean appearance from the curb, can set the tone for how the Buyer will respond to the home before they even get inside.
3. Repairs
The general rule of thumb is to fix all the things you have ignoring. Change the dead lightbulbs, service your HVAC system, make sure all the outlet covers are on the sockets. The more polished the home is, the less of a chance that the Buyer will try and negotiate a credit. Often times, fixing up the items that need attention will be less expensive than the potential credit request from a Buyer.
