Hoopili from DR Horton Offers Flex and Ohana Homes

The new DR Horton project at Ho’opili is doing some amazing things. If you haven’t seen what is going on out West and especially at Hoopili you really need to check it out. We toured the area about a year ago and there was nothing there but dirt, trees, and raw land. They started selling their first home in January 2017, and now they have just welcomed their 100th family. The developer seems to be selling the homes about as fast as they can build them. What started out as a first come first sold project has had so much demand that they have now had to switch to a lottery system. Currently, they are selling out of the last two release of Haloa and Haakea and will be introducing two new offerings shortly.

Ohana Units

One thing we hear often as agents is clients looking for Ohana (studios) units for a property. Hoopili has been smart enough to offer what they call ADU’s (ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT) as an option on some of their models. These are separate homes attached to the main house with full kitchens, bathrooms, separate entrances and parking. This is great for a mother in law, adult child, or mainland guest.

Flex Homes

Another revolutionary concept that they are offering is Flex Homes. These again are specific to certain properties in the complex but offering a business with a separate entrance attached to the property. This can be anything from a hair salon, coffee shop to a medical center. This is truly taking the work, play and live concept to a whole new level. Where else can you buy a home and also have the ability to make money? These two concepts are just part of the offerings from DR Horton.

The complex is expected to offer 5 schools when completed with the first one being a high school. It will also have numerous green spaces, parks, trails, play areas, and 3 light rail stops all contained in the complex. They are currently offering affordable homes with prices in the $300s to the single-family homes in the low $700s. If you are planning on buying now or in the distant future it makes sense to get on the waitlist now. I would be more than happy to take any clients to the sales center to get them registered and show them the amazing offerings.
