Did you know that over 10% of Hawaii’s population is military? That’s more than 42,000 active-duty service members, plus 112,000 Veterans and 9,400 National Guardsmen and Reservists. These men and women are heavily involved in Hawaii’s real estate market, participating in over 20% of all transactions on Oahu.
Our military personnel buy and sell a lot of property. As Realtors, it’s important that we understand the needs of our men and women in uniform. Very important.

The Reality of Military Moves
Imagine how hard it is for our military men and women and their families to make a move. Frequent moves are a fact of military life. Take a look at these statistics:
- 54% moved in the past 2 years
- 31% have moved 5+ times
- 15% have moved 6-8+ times
Financial and Family Challenges of PCS Moves
Wow! That is a lot of moving. And, a lot of stress! Statistically, 80% of PCS (Permanent Change of Duty) moves cause financial hardships. What’s worse, 43% of couples choose to live apart at some point during their military careers.
When you consider the impact frequent moves have on marriage, family, and finances, it’s no wonder that those who serve need special attention and high-quality care and service. They also deserve our thanks.
Supporting Military Buyers and Sellers
It’s an honor to serve our military clients. I may not fully understand the stresses that come with military life, but I do understand the stresses that a move entails — especially a military move. I’ve represented hundreds of buyers and sellers over the years, but more importantly, I’m a military mom. And, there is nothing I love to do more than to help our men and women in uniform. Why It’s an Honor to Serve Our Military Clients
I truly appreciate the unique challenges of making a military move, and I appreciate those who have risked it all to serve our country. Thank you to all those who have sacrificed so much, and thank you for the privilege of serving you! If you’re a service member or Veteran looking for help with your next move in Hawaii, I have the resources, experience, and heart to guide you every step of the way.
