Finding a Brokerage That Fits You as a Real Estate Professional

Finding a home in the real estate industry as an independent contractor is much harder than it should be. With so many brokerage models and their managers actively recruiting talent by calling, emailing, and pitching their firms daily, it can be tough to make a solid decision and get to the heart of the matter. To find a brokerage that uniquely fits your style, work ethic, and goals. One that you can grow with, and that is somewhat “future proof.”

What Makes Us Different

Hawaii Life is an independent brokerage model that does not actively recruit agents. We want to make it easy for an agent considering Hawaii Life. We advise you to reach out to us directly. We don’t make it a company policy to contact agents or recruit them from other brokerage firms.

We don’t require our brokers to reach a quota of cold calls and agent leads. We talk to agents who inquire about Hawaii Life. We connect with agents who come to us with questions and want to learn more.

When an agent inquires, we always listen to their wants and needs and talk about our presence in the marketplace. Above all, we share information about our tools built with one thing in mind: our agents’ success. We want prospective hires to find out for themselves if Hawaii Life is right for them. No pressure. We tell them we are a brand built on good design, clear and concise messaging, and hard work.

Why Content & Good Design Matter in the Real Estate Industry

Hawaii Life started on Kauai in 2008 with Wasabi Marketing, a creative advertising firm that helped real estate companies. With HawaiiLife.com, we were at the forefront of content marketing and online lead generation—the internet was relatively young and new.

Interest from buyers not present in the market was strong. Our lead generation efforts were so successful that we decided to create a brokerage firm centered around a deep understanding of the potential of search engine optimization (SEO). Our approach was creating engaging original content combined with a clear and concise “design everything” mantra. Hawaii Life was born!

Hawaii Life grew its agent, design, administrative, and marketing teams from those humble, design-focused beginnings and branched out, island by island. We have since grown with like-minded agents, thoughtful leadership, and a powerful in-house marketing team into the state’s #1 independent brokerage in sales and volume while remaining independent. We are also the second most successful brokerage in sales volume among all of Hawaii’s brokerage firms.

Hawaii Life Style

Despite our many achievements and accolades, we downplay our standing and focus instead on doing good work and being of service to our clients. Our HLMO describes how we operate and is centered around staying humble, walking a mile in someone else’s shoes, and always being grateful. To walk the talk and deliver solid representation!

We understand that creating a sustainable career in real estate is a heavy lift and requires a team-wide approach, with everyone working together to lift all of the agents in the firm. Through collaboration and teamwork, we’ve created a market presence and dominance unlike any other—with everyone’s voices working in unison to create a hyper-local brand that is incredibly well-received and respected.

If you are a real estate agent licensed in Hawaii and want to know more about Hawaii Life, please get in touch with me. I’d be happy to talk story, provide more information, and find out if we (both Hawaii Life and you) are a good fit. But, of course, if we discover in that process that we aren’t, then that’s okay, too.

I have been in the real estate industry for many years and may be able to offer some ideas to help you attain that perfect fit. Depending on your needs, I can even make introductions to other firms. After all, your success depends on finding the brokerage firm that supports your style and work ethic—a brokerage that will challenge you to grow in an ever-changing market and a constantly changing landscape of broker models.

The brand and culture that our company founders Winston Welborn and Matt Beall have created are well-loved by our agents and the communities we serve. It’s good to understand what Hawaii Life is, how we’re different, and how Hawaii Life may fit into your goals when you’re considering a new brokerage home. Contact me, and we can talk more about the possibilities.

More About Hawaii Life

Hawaiilife.com is the most highly trafficked real estate website in Hawaii, with a design-forward approach and a strong focus on SEO-optimized content marketing, lead generation and lead nurturing. Our website puts your content front and center while delivering a host of unique features. I encourage you to check it out, read our agents’ articles, and visit our agents’ bio pages.

We also have a “design everything” philosophy, so all of our tools are part of an integrated ecosystem that’s carefully planned by our in-house creative team. Our Hawaii Life Dashboard is our agent portal to that ecosystem. Smarketing gives you an idea of the types of marketing collateral we generate for our agents and clients. We also support local communities through the Hawaii Life Charitable Fund.

And lastly, our HLMO defines who we are and how we operate. Our modus operandi appears in huge lettering on the wall of our many offices statewide. We invite you to stop by and chat with any of our agents and find out what makes working with Hawaii Life so special.

My whole life I’ve wanted to live in Hawaii! As an agent here in Texas, I dream of transitioning to living/working out there to serve clients with their real estate needs. Maybe one day I’ll be able to connect and grow with a great brokerage like Hawaii Life!

> Aloha Ander,

The first step is to get out here! Let me know if you are ever on Oahu or the neighbor islands, and I can arrange a visit to our Hawaii Life digs and we can talk about the possibilities of relocating.
