Beaches
Lanikai Beach

View in Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/SFekPHb7Zah6NuMa7
Lanikai Beach in Kailua, Oahu, is a premier, mile-long stretch of white sand and turquoise water known for its stunning sunrise views of the Mokulua Islands. Located on the southeast side of Oahu, it is ideal for swimming, kayaking, and lounging, though it lacks public facilities (no restrooms or lifeguards) and has strict residential parking restrictions. If driving, get there very early. Best to take a uber/Lyft
Sunset Beach Park

View in Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/KCDKgPZbvGNJJD2k7
Sunset Beach Park on Oahu’s North Shore is a renowned two-mile stretch of sandy beach celebrated for spectacular sunsets, world-class winter surfing, and calmer summer waters. Located near Haleiwa, it features lifeguards, free parking, and restrooms, making it ideal for surfing, strolling, and sunbathing.
Snorkel + Water Spots
Shark’s Cove

View in Google Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/3A2ULpoD8dvYuKQc8
Shark’s Cove, located on Oahu’s North Shore in Pupukea Beach Park, is a premier, free-entry snorkeling and diving spot within a Marine Life Conservation District, characterized by rocky, tide-pool-like, lava rock formations. It offers rich marine life, including turtles, octopus, and diverse fish species, but it is best visited in summer due to dangerous winter waves.
Kahe Point Beach Park

View in Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/iKskiBWwshcgrWL4A
Kahe Point Beach Park, popularly known as “Electric Beach,” is one of Oahu’s premier snorkeling and scuba diving destinations located on the sunny west shore. The park gets its nickname from the adjacent Hawaiian Electric power plant, which discharges clean, warm water into the ocean through two large underwater cooling pipes. This warm water creates a thriving artificial reef that attracts an abundance of marine life. Parking is easy. There are showers, bathrooms, and a large, shaded pavilion
Views + Hikes
Lanikai Pillbox Trail

View in Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/11srQB8718H9Aze19
The Lanikai Pillbox Hike (Kaʻiwa Ridge Trail) is a popular 0.8–1.8 mile round-trip hike in Oahu offering panoramic views of Lanikai Beach and the Mokulua Islands. Taking 1–2 hours, the moderate-difficulty trail features steep, rocky, and unshaded terrain, requiring sturdy footwear. The best time is sunrise. I feel this hike is NOT safe for children and pets. Steep drop offs. There is no parking so take a uber/Lyft. The view is what lifetime memories are made of.
Makapuʻu Point Lighthouse Trailhead

View in Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/DzsfeBGrd7YaChwK6
The Makapuʻu Point Lighthouse Trailhead is the gateway to one of Oahu’s most popular coastal hikes, located on the southeasternmost tip of the island along Kalanianaʻole Highway (Hwy 72). This completely paved, family-friendly trail takes you on a 2.5-mile round-trip journey to an elevation of roughly 500 feet, offering stunning, unobstructed views of the Windward Coast and the historic, red-roofed lighthouse.

View in Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/kLTZ4uaKfsB1zLTr8
Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden is a true embodiment of paradise that spreads over 400 lush, tropical acres on the windward side of Oahu, Hawaii. This Eden, whose name fittingly translates to “peaceful refuge”, is not just a sanctuary of tranquility but a vibrant canvas of botanical diversity. This carefully curated collection of plants from tropical regions all over the globe gives visitors a unique opportunity to explore and appreciate the delicate interplay of flora and fauna. If you’ve seen Hawaii videos on TikTok, you’ve probably seen this spot. You can either drive through or hike, and there are several parks and restrooms along the way.

Leonard’s Bakery is always busy but totally worth the wait. The line will look long but it moves fast. Leonard’s Bakery is a historic Honolulu institution famous for its malasadas, a Portuguese-style hole less doughnut brought to Hawaii by immigrants in the late 19th century. Since opening in 1952, the bakery has become a “household name” and a mandatory stop for both locals and tourists.
