Oceanfront Estate Lot For Sale on Oahu's Kahala Avenue

Drop Dead Digs—September 2011.

I usually look for a house/property that excites me to add to the list of homes that are “to die for,” but this time with the recent closing of “Candyland” to Formula One heiress Petra Ecclestone for $85 million, I thought about which Hawaii property could compare to one of the most expensive homes on the market in 2011.

Well, I couldn’t find one and thought it was a shame that Oahu doesn’t have one of those yet. If Petra wants a tropical oasis of her own in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, we should probably have some options for her…or someone who wants to compete with her.

Since getting enough land in Oahu’s premier neighborhoods is difficult to come by, I thought this vacant lot on Oahu’s top address (MLS# 1104549) could accommodate such an estate. It wouldn’t be Candyland though, it would simply be “Heaven on Earth.” What could possibly make the 56,500 square foot estate even grander? Ocean frontage, of course.

This is what I am talking about—2.762 acres of oceanfront real estate on Oahu’s Kahala Beach. This triple lot could house Petra’s mansion, and wouldn’t walking out to crystal blue waters and a sandy beach be ideal? Whoever buys this prime piece of oceanfront property is going to make Huffington Post real estate writer’s drool.

Take a look at some photos of this future drop dead digs location:

To be realistic, at $45 million, if you wanted to match Petra’s caliber, after buying the lot, you would still have $40 million to spend on the estate—AND your estate would have direct ocean access. If you want to one-up the 2 recent huge real estate purchases—Petra’s $85 million and Russia’s billionaire Yuri Milner’s $100 million Silicon Valley—this is the way to do it
