Charming Honolulu Cottage with Views

4807 Matsonia Dr is a home for those who crave character. With its steep roofline, gingerbread-shingled gables, and gate that leads you on a path to your front door, this cottage looks like one that you would find in England.

While many like the idea of a house with some character to it, cottages can be outdated or even small by today’s standards (this one was built in 1934). In this case, you should be pleasantly surprised due to the extensive updating that occurred in 2014, which left the charm in place but brought the house into the 21st century. Also, the original floor plan of this home was generous. The recent renovation added to this, increasing the living area to slightly over 4,000 square feet and creating a new master suite.

Here’s another characteristic of this home that is noteworthy, the sweeping views from Diamond Head to Waikiki and out towards Ewa. And while views in Hawaii are coveted, views like this are pretty rare.

We have lived in Hawaii or over 15 years before moving to Oregon. We lived in Hilo for over 13 years, Eva Beach for a couple and spent many nights in the Hotels close to the beach.

your demo was a tease but it had no price attached and as a retired couple that ia important.

> Aloha Ron, Once Hawaii gets in your blood it hard not to live here. Ive seen many folks like yourself return. As for the price this home is priced at $1,825,000. You can find a simple cottage for $700K or so but for a larger home in good condition with a view like this you need to pay a little more.
