Can I Buy a New Home and Sell My Current Home at the Same Time?
Looking to trade-up or just make a new move? Have you thought, “well, I’ll need to sell my home first before I can afford to even start looking”? If you’re like most of us, I’m guessing you have. After all, isn’t that why the term “starter home” exists?
Making a Contingent Offer
Did you know you can make an offer on another home (maybe even your dream home) contingent on the sale of your current home? How does that even work you might ask? Contractually, it’s really very simple. There are a few different ways the purchase contract can be structured, depending on your circumstances. There are a ton of moving parts as you’ll essentially be selling your current home while purchasing a new home. With your trusted realtor, it’s absolutely achievable!
We’re coming off an outrageous Seller’s market where contingent offers were (generally) not even considered. But, the market is feeling a bit of a shift. This will hopefully create a bit more leveling field for both Buyers and Sellers.
