Boutique Shopping, Culture, & Dining in Lawai Valley | Warehouse 3540

Warehouse 3540 (hours: 10-3 Mon-Fri., 11-3 Sat)

Local artesian boutiques shopping, art galleries, food, jewelry, art classes, farmer’s markets, have helped create a unique and inviting atmosphere

Lawai Valley has become a new hot spot hub destination for both visitors and locals alike. The bustling growth of Warehouse 3540 is due to the hip variety of local retail boutiques such as some of my favorites Lily Koi, Ivy & Co., MachineMachine and Navydylan. The “Warehouse” hosts inspiring local art galleries such as Robin McCoy’s bright floral and scenic portraits, and pretty stationary and watercolor paper goods from Ocean Paper.

And then there are the yummy eats or as locally known as, good grinds.

With a variety of food trucks such as Kickshaw’s, Kauai Poke Co., and Kind Coffee Co. — you are sure to find something not only incredibly fresh and tasty, but also unique. And of course, there is the incredible guilt-free shave ice delight of Fresh Shave where they hand make fresh fruit syrups daily — no “yellow #9” here!

Word to the wise…

Fresh market fruits and vegetables

Plan to see the Warehouse at its best during their Friday Markets (10am-2pm). Even more Kauai vendors and music help create a bustling social scene. Such a variety exists — from local farmer, Paul, who brings his fresh fruits and veggies, the Koloa Bee farmer with honey delights, fresh baked goods, and local crafts to talented jewelers who bring their wares and have created a staple marketplace for the entire south shore area.

For the athletic and fitness enthusiasts looking to either stretch it out or get their sweat on, there are great options such as OFF (Organic Functional Fitness), the Yoga Garage, and Kalaheo Yoga right here in the neighborhood.

To read more about each of these and their offerings, check out my article, Finding Yoga on Kauai’s South Shore.
