What We Love About 3933 Ma’alaea Bay Place

I feel especially honored to be representing this property for sale. As it is owned by the family of one of my best friends growing up here on Maui. Patrick Holland (my friend and co-listor) and our friends have shared a lot of spectacular memories at the Bay House together. I sure feel lucky to experience it as a teenager/young adult and am very grateful to help my friends in moving on toward their next stage of their lives.

The real question for this property is – what’s not to love?

160 Ft. of Direct Ocean Frontage & Easy Access to the Water

For those of you unfamiliar with oceanfront property on Maui, this is a very large amount of frontage. Compared to other properties for sale, it is a clear point of distinction. This home couldn’t be more well designed. Stretching the length of the shoreline with many huge windows in each room welcomes the best of Maui into this distinctive residence. You feel an intimate connection to the ocean in somewhat of a boat-like setting, but with an incredibly comfortable and refined interior setting.

There is a well-constructed stairwell that leads down to the shoreline for easy access to SUP, kayak, swim, or dive. Patrick and I learned how to stand up paddle here on the water fronting their home. There was one time that we were out there, and all of a sudden it there was a light rain, but it was still sunny out. A huge rainbow emerged, and the surf out front picked up a couple of feet out of the clear blue. It is one of the most memorable surf sessions I have ever had in the water and is just one of the many reasons that makes this place so spectacular.

Stunning Haleakala, Kahoolawe Island, Ma’alaea Harbor, & Ocean Vistas From Every Room

Living room with ceilings

This great room redefines the open concept for living, dining, food, and timeless memory creation. Can you imagine a better setup to celebrate Thanksgiving or Superbowl Sunday?

Kitchen

A 10’x5′ solid monkeypod/mango kitchen island that is only rivaled by the one which this residence lives upon. It has a beautiful accent of mango cabinetry, exotic granite slabs, wine/drink mini fridge, GE induction cook top, and GE monogram stainless appliances. Patrick’s mom is one of the best bakers I know and she loves her double ovens. I don’t mind doing dishes at all with this view…would you?

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner with a View

Dining table

Looking for dinner guests? Shouldn’t be too hard with this setup. A 20ft. span of Fleetwood sliding glass doors disappear, the pacifying sounds of the ocean appear, and seamless transition emerges outdoors to the ipe wood lanai.

Smiling Turtles

The ‘ipe wood lanai area with copper and teak railing poles serves as your own boat platform. Sensually connecting you to the Pacific (minus the stomach uneasiness). Turn starboard, turn port side – it couldn’t be better than this.

Lanai straight out

From this vantage point, watch Maui awaken as the sun rises, the maunalei (light cloud cover in the form of a lei) dissipates revealing Puʻu ʻUlaʻula (red hill), which is the zenith of Maui at Haleakala’s mighty summit, the verdant slopes of Upcountry Maui, and all the way south to soft sandy shores of Makena. To top it off, directly below this lanai there are a group of 10-15 Hawaiian green sea turtles that you can regularly see grazing and smiling up at you as you do in return to them.

The Ocean Soothes You To Sleep & Invigorates You As You Awake

Three of the four bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms each with their own distinctive elegance and all with perfectly framed views. A custom mango wood staircase railing leads upstairs where French doors welcome you into the spacious upstairs master bedroom with warm natural light, open beam ceilings, and many glass windows inviting the outdoors in. On the western end of the home there are two private lanai areas off each bedroom (upstairs and down) that afford relaxation and whale watching.

4 Miles of White Sandy Beach Walking

The Bay House at Ma’alaea is a 1-minute drive from Ma’alaea Harbor (boat slips and commercial fishing and touring ventures), several shops, and restaurants (Ma’alaea General Store has great sandwiches and coffee, Beachbums for BBQ, Saltimbocca for Italian). Also here is the Maui Ocean Center Aquarium, and perhaps most desirably is the white sand beach you see below, which stretches from Haycraft Beach Park in Ma’alaea all the way to Sugar Beach in North Kihei.

It’s a Wrap…

The Bay House blends Bailenese fusion with island contemporary style. Ohia poles compliment the sturdy exterior, which is finished by imperial plaster on the entire exterior. All of which are housed by a cedar shake looking monier tile roof with copper end caps on the rafters. View a complete list of Maalaea Bay Place Improvements.

Wait…There’s a Bit More For Friends & Family

Beneath the garage is a secluded one bed/one bath 400 sq.ft. guest home. It has a full bathroom, a slate outdoor shower, outdoor jacuzzi, and an awesome deck shown on the picture below. Finishes include: slate flooring, imperial plaster walls, new lighting, and air conditioning. Direct ocean access is from where you see the palms down a stairwell to your ocean playground.
