High-Style Condos, World-Class Amenities and a Walkable Lifestyle at Ala Moana Beach

Honolulu is doing it. Creating a brand new city-within-a-city at Ala Moana Beach: Ward Village. Each day I marvel as the towers rise, designed by some of the finest architects in the world. Two of the towers, Waiea (pictured below) and Anaha, are fast approaching completion and are mostly sold out. Two others still have a variety of residences available. A’eo has just broken ground and Gateway Cylinder has just begun sales.

The architects Richard Meier & Partners (Gateway Towers) and Bohlin Cywinski Jackson (Ae’o) have created buildings that co-exist rather than compete with each other, integrating parks, views, public spaces, and shopping – in short, the minutiae that makes for a happy, whole daily life. Here is a simple introduction to the two towers to help get the conversation started on these remarkable projects.

A’eo Tower

A’eo, with residences starting in the $800k’s, was designed by world renowned architect Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, in partnership with Architect’s Hawaii. Bohlin Cywinski Jackson is best known for the iconic Apple Glass cube retail store in Manhattan. Taking advantage of the ocean and marina views between the Waiea and Gateway Towers, the architect included ingenious pop out windows or “wings” on both the Ewa and Diamond Head facing residences so that a majority of the units have ocean views. There are currently one, two, and three bedroom units on offer.

In addition to the floor to ceiling windows with sweeping views, interior touches elevate these residences from what we are used to here in Honolulu. All residences feature rich hardwood floors in the living room and kitchen areas. The state-of-the-art sleek kitchens are offered in 7 different color schemes, which is unheard of here in Hawaii. Ingenious storage solutions, sleek hardware, and meticulous attention to detail are hallmarks here at A’eo.

The Sky Terrace, open to all residences, is the most unique amenity at A’eo. This spectacular open air terrace will be the place for sunsets and fireworks. A place to meet neighbors, entertain friends, or relax after work with a glass of wine.

Imagine having your own private entrance to Whole Foods. No parking hassles, no trying to time it so you miss the busy times, and if you forgot the milk, it’s just an elevator ride away. That’s convenience in this modern world. I joke with clients that I specialize in selling property adjacent to Whole Food Stores and you cannot get “more adjacent” than being on top of one.

Currently the developer offers a Model Resident Tour for A’eo. Contact me directly to arrange a tour. For more details, here are links to both a one and two bedroom now on offer:

Gateway Towers Cylinder

The Cylinder at Gateway Towers, with residences starting at $1.6 million, was designed by Richard Meier & Partners. If you are a fan of architecture, Richard Meier needs no introduction. His works include the Getty Museum in Los Angeles and the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art as well as numerous private homes. This elegant tower will feature residences with direct ocean and Diamond Head views. Elegance and clarity are what come to mind when viewing Richard Meier’s concept for the tower.
Gateway Pool
This luxury tower will have a spacious amenity deck wth an ocean and sunset facing infinity edged pool along with a separate 25 yard lap pool for the serious swimmer. Private cabanas and a large flexible dining area and catering kitchen will lend itself to parties, large and small. There will be an ocean view gym with a resort-style spa and separate yoga studio. Three guest suites for your likely visitors as well. One unique amenity, new to Honolulu, will be a dog spa adjacent to a dog park. There will be a private screening room along with a private wine bar and sunset view lounge.
marina access
The tower fronts a park with waterways, restaurants, and shops for a lively atmosphere. The path leads out to the marina and the ocean, perfect for boaters and sunset watchers.

The estimated completion date is 4th Quarter of 2019. The developer offers tours of a gorgeous model residence, showing both the light and dark interior options.
