The 2015 Sony Open is set to take place here on Oahu January 11th-18th. Thousands will gravitate around Kahala and Waialae Golf Course to volunteer, spectate, and witness this PGA Tourney that takes place this time every year. That doesn’t touch the surface of who will be watching our beautiful weather on television and online. Sticking with tradition, I’ll touch upon the golf course homes available for sale along the course.
Waialae Golf Course
Unlike years past where there would be a good 3-4 homes for sale that front Waialae Golf Course, this year we have only one. This is also a tell-tale sign of our market on Oahu with low inventory. That’s the bad news for Buyers (and good for Sellers).
This home on Kaimoku Place (MLS# 204323409) is listed for $3.5 million
However, if you’re not determined to actually live on the golf course at Waialae, there’s a bunch of newer inventory hitting the market around Kahala. There are also a number of homes along the ridges that have views of the course. In addition, there are some good values as well, if you’re willing to explore other courses and neighborhoods on Oahu.
Hawaii Kai Golf Course
This home fronting the Hawaii Kai course (MLS# 201418441) is Honolulu’s least expensive
If you’re willing to drive a little further east to Hawaii Kai, there are a handful of homes that front the public course there with prices starting at $925,000 above for a home in Kalama Valley’s Laulima neighborhood. There are also a few more in nearby Queen’s Gate with pools in the low million $ range.

As always, east Honolulu homes will always go for money. However, if you’re willing to drive a little further you definitely get more “bang for your buck” (no pun intended).
