Like the gated communities of Hillside East Oahu, the gated townhouse communities of East Oahu also offer residents less traffic, better security, and generally higher property values than your standard home.

A few of these gated community homes have ocean views, and a number of them have direct marina frontages, some even with  have boat docks. The communities vary as to how the gates are utilized. The simplest of them have a gate without a guard that residents enter using garage door-type openers, with entry keypads for guests and backup purposes. Gated communities are a very desirable real estate investment for residents and investors alike, and East Oahu has three hillside developments that have seen an uptick in activity recently.

5231A Kuaiwi Place (MLS# 1006735) in Kahala Kua has just been reduced to $1,525,000

Although there are a number of gated townhouse developments, the three single family gated communities of Waialae Iki V, Kahala Kua, and Hawaii Loa Ridge are the ones with the spectacular views and higher end properties. Various differences exist with regard to common area amenities, but all three share the benefits of better security, reduced traffic, and, usually, higher values. These in turn offset some of the negatives, which are a sense of always being watched while coming and going, dealing with having guests having to call in, and the “elitist” perception of some. A list of the most viewed real estate listings in Hawaii is precious information, like a barometer of Hawaii’s real estate market. It shows our fantasies, and the reality. Some of these listings are already under contract pending a sale, and some have offers pending. The list of properties that get the most traffic, if you know what to look for, can almost predict what’s going to sell next.
