It is resort zoned, so it can operate as a private retreat or public inn. The current owner lives in one of the two homes and rents out the 6 suites in the other on a month to month basis.
The homes are open and airy with many of the suites having either an ocean view or their own private lanai. Nestled behind beach cottages along Alii Drive, you can hear and see the waves breaking at the beach.
One building has a central 3-story palm filled atrium off which all of the suites are located with a large gathering room on the first floor. The two bedroom owners suite has a large updated kitchen, private ocean view lanai, and is perfect for entertaining. One of the suites in the second building has a full kitchen as well. There is an outdoor kitchen in the gazebo with sink and BBQ for the others to share.
The beach park at Kahalu’u features a surf break for surfers, some of the best snorkeling on the island behind a breakwater, and historical fish ponds and ruins. The Keauhou Beach Resort is right there as well with a couple of dining options.
Not far is Keauhou Shopping Center with a supermarket, movie theater, and a few more restaurants. The Kona Country Club is just up the road with two great golf courses.
About 5 miles in the other direction is the town of Kailua Kona with lots of shopping, restaurants and more beaches. This is a great location for friends, family, or guests to hideaway or explore the Kona Coast.
