$3.5 Million Almost Off-the-Grid Home For Sale – A Luxury Estate in Hamakua, Hawaii

This absolutely gorgeous property in Hamakua (MLS# 245897) is a dream home to live for! Nestled in Umauma Falls Estates, this elegant residence is home to a celebrity songwriter who has created the perfect place for entertaining high-end guests as well as mainland vacation renters, with all the comforts of a resort—and then some!

When I walked into this house, it took my breath away…the clear ocean views were so beautiful. I had to stop for a minute to catch my breath as the cool tropical breezes came through the kitchen area.

The music playing on the central sound system had me in the mood to dance while I moseyed from room to room, appreciating the attention-to-detail and every nook and cranny.

The elegant master suite located on the windward side is perfectly situated to appreciate the beautiful sunrises.

The spacious master bathroom is a lover’s dream! With enough room for everyone, you will never bump into each other unless you want to! Gorgeous double-sinks and a vanity area next to the large soaking tub, you will be floating in heaven as you get ready for the day.

The salt water pool with waterfalls and views of the ocean will have you feeling like you are at the resort, but better, because you never have to leave! Well designed for entertainment, you have the central sound system, so music can be heard all the way to the gazebo and beyond.

The hot tub overlooks the pool and waterfall, and the bar is close enough to get your cold beverages while taking a rest in the shade. Two separate restrooms are nestled on the south side for entertaining convenience.

This estate is set up for a vacation rental as the two bungalows and a separate guest quarters offer comfort and privacy. Each unit has its own solar hot water and air conditioning units with a mini-kitchenette for convenience, and a jewelry safe located in the closet of each bungalow for security and peace of mind for your guests.

Almost off-the-grid, this home features an aesthetically pleasing windmill, which cuts the electric bill in half! This home also offers solar hot water for the salt water pool and a solar hot water unit at each of the two bungalows…this property also has its own water well, so there is no water bill!

You’ll be inviting the neighbors, friends, and guests over all the time when you move into this property! There are gorgeous walkways and pathways, so you can meander throughout the property, and I visualized a beautiful wedding taking place here with the bride walking down the pathway to meet the man of her dreams at the flowered gazebo to tie the knot…a moment they will always remember!

Dreams are made and enjoyed when you come home to this gorgeous Hamakua residence at Umauma Falls Estates, and showing you around will be like experiencing Heaven on Earth! The owners have added so many fine details that it will take awhile to see everything, so plan the day for a visit and be prepared to fall in love!

Call me anytime for details and I look forward to showing you around!

Blessings and Aloha,

Aloha Claire… I too, envisioned a big party at this house…what an amazing place! What struck me the most about our property tour of Beverly Molfino’s listings last Friday was how “sophisticated” the Hamakua Coast has become! I think a lot of people envision Hamakua as full of farmers and plantation homes – and sure those exist – but there is so, so, so much more to Hamakua these days than just a more provincial pace of life!! There are amazing, world-class luxury estate homes such as this one – that rival properties I’ve seen all over the world. Hamakua Coast – it’s not just pretty scenery on the drive to Hilo anymore…

Thanks for this comment Katie! Beverly’s listings are definitely taking “country living” to a higher level, and I was particularly impressed with this oceanfront home because of the amount of self-sustainable efforts that have gone into keeping this property almost off-the-grid, while still maintaining & preserving the highest “quality of life” for the homeowners and their guests. I mean, having your own private water well.. on the Big Island, that’s like having liquid gold.. valued at priceless to some who only have catchment tank water available.

I’d be interested to see how many sustainable properties have their own private water well.. and I will also be offering this option to those sustainable-conscious buyers who are looking for other ways to live off-the-grid.

Mahalo Beverly, Katie, Julie, Perry, and everyone, especially the Property Owners who helped put this awesome Hamakua caravan together for us! Great show, and a huge education for me!
