We decided to give our feet some much needed R&R at beautiful Makaiwa Bay in the Big island’s Mauna Lani Resort. We have found that outside of the Captain Cook monument area, Makaiwa Bay has some of the best snorkeling on the island. There is an extensive reef in the bay with lots of fish.
And with a low surf and gentle wind, we let our feet take us from Makaiwa Bay south around the point, into Anaehoomalu Bay at the Waikoloa Beach Resort (along with a lunch) using a pedal drive Hobie kayak.
It was a perfect Big Island day. Happy Feet!

Suddenly Dan noticed that most of his clients had foot fetishes…..Marion chimed in with humor “As long as we get the Nike or Rebock client base Dan…” All kidding aside…looks like a fun day.
I was working at Mauna Lani in the early 80′s and remember when they were “improving this bay”; bringing in sand, etc. It sure has become a fabulous place to recreate. The access to public is great, but the homeowners who get the use of the beach with gate access really benefit! It’s a real perk, (still free), to any homewoner at Mauna Lani! Thanks for this info, Dan and Marion…I hope you can get to the beach often!

Wish we were there with you playing golf. It is cold here and temps are dropping even farther tonight! Enjoy the sun and keep those toes moving!
