I Can Only Sell What I Believe In

Change is never easy. Have you ever had someone try and get you to sell something to your friends and family and paint a picture of how you can make a ton of money overnight and you’ll never live paycheck to paycheck again?

There are tons of multi-level marketing companies out there that breed on people looking to make a “quick buck.” I could never see myself trying to sell something to others around me that I don’t believe works.

I spent the first four years of my career with Coldwell Banker and the following five years with RE/MAX. I was content at both places and never looking for change. At the time, I was spending thousands of dollars on my own website and getting mediocre results.

Two years ago, however, I was fortunate enough to team up with Hawaii Life through a mutual friend on Kauai. I saw what they were doing on the Internet and was blown away by how often they turned up at the top of any search I did for Hawaii Real Estate. At the time, they were only on Kauai and the Big Island.

The first half of 2009 was miserably slow for me as the financial crisis of the fall of 2008 had transitioned into low closing volume in early 2009. I never stopped working hard however. By the summer, I had eight escrows at one point, and four of them were generated from Hawaii Life’s website! As much as I didn’t want to change brokerages at the time, I now REALLY BELIEVED IN THIS COMPANY! The rest is history…

I joined Hawaii Life just over a year ago on Oahu. Just prior to joining, Tobi Fisher helped launch the Maui operations. Shortly after, we were honored to have the President of the Hawaii Association of Realtors Tracy Stice become our Maui Broker-in-Charge. Agents have been flocking there since, including Dano Sayles and the incredible Ho’olei at the Grand Wailea. The Big Island has rolled out their Puako Office, and at the end of this week, we’ll have 10 agents on Oahu! Oh, and did I mention we were nominated one of the most innovative real estate brokerages in the nation?

I’m not sure if you can tell yet, however I DO BELIEVE in Hawaii Life Real Estate Services! This business model works and I am proud to be a part of it. I’ve seen countless success stories of agents seeing their business skyrocket after joining our company. I’ve also seen as many success stories among the satisfied Buyers and Sellers we’ve represented.

Smart Marketing and Solid Representation really works. I am officially SOLD on Hawaii Life.

Contact me if you’d like to find out more about this company I believe in.

Awesome David. Thank you. I’m so curious to see what will come of Hawaii Life on Oahu. Time will tell. You and the Oahu crew are definitely the mavens… next up are the early adopters. My guess is that some firm will come knocking, but we’ll see…

Aloha David – I love your story!! And must say I agree – it’s hard to sell something that you don’t believe in – or don’t practice! That’s why I’m constantly encouraging our agents and brokers to “go outside and play!” We’re selling the Hawaii Life-style and we’d better be living it and loving it in order to truly sell it!!

I’d wish you best of luck on Oahu, except that you don’t need it. Hawaii Life will crush it on Oahu, it’s a foregone conclusion, and I’m thrilled to be a witness to your success!

Hey Matt,
Glad to see you read Malcolm Gladwell too. How about recommending his book The Tipping Point for those who have not checked it out yet.
