Hawaii Life is thrilled to announce the Grand Opening of our newest location at Puako Beach Drive on the Big Island’s Kohala Coast. We had a wonderful celebration this past Friday, with over 100 people in attendance, and a lot of big aloha from the Big Island.
We spent a lot of time (and money) working with our new partner, Hawaii Vacation Rentals, to remodel the new office space to its current living/show room feel. Hawaii Vacation Rentals has had a professional presence in Puako in the same location for 16 years, and they”ll continue to offer vacation homes along the Kohala Coast. The partnership of Hawaii Life and Hawaii Vacation Rentals will allows us to offer full service to homeowners who need professional property management.

Pattie Freeman (“Puako Pattie” to her Big Island ohana), the founder of Hawaii Vacation Rentals, organized and oversaw a complete remodel of the office she’s been in for 17 years. Shortly after we decided to do business together, we rented the upstairs offices for a private conference room and extra work space. We can only begin to imagine how cathartic it must have been for Pattie to pack up decades of work, keep what’s relevant, abandon the rest, and move full speed ahead into a new partnership with Hawaii Life.
We’re honored to have Puako Pattie on board with Hawaii Life. Between stories of selling out all of Waiki’i Ranch in one day to driving around Kahala on Oahu in a Japanese billionaire’s black limousine, Pattie brings her 20 years of real estate brokerage experience to Hawaii Life’s already impressive lineup on the Big Island.
We couldn’t have imagined a better place than Puako to open Hawaii Life’s first Big Island office. Located right in between the Mauna Kea and Mauna Lani Resorts, and literally the only stretch of beach outside the resorts on the entire Kohala Coast, Puako’s got charm… and character (a lot of character).

A great big thank you to all that helped make the impossible possible!! Every day as we went through files and stacks of papers, just the right person in the neighborhood showed up to help carry something or move a file. What a great neighborhood Puako truly is! The teamwork from Hawaii Life agents was quite noticeable during this big transition. Please stop in and enjoy our new “oasis”.
