Hawaii Life at Inman Connect, and the Future of Hawaii Real Estate

The Inman Connect Conference in San Francisco this past week was, well… incredible. Hawaii Life’s ‘Head Web-Head’, Justin Britt, opened the first day of the conference as a co-presenter for a workshop entitled ‘Search Engine Dominance and Great Design: How Two Brokers Did Both’. It was a huge acknowledgement for Hawaii Life to have Inman News ask Justin to give a presentation.  The List of Speakers at Inman Connect 2009 includes some of the industry’s most impressive and influential thought-leaders.  I’m both proud and humbled at the same time.

After the presentation, it felt like we were shot out of a cannon.  There was such an incredible amount of information being delivered at the various presentations and breakout groups. As I really got present to how technology continues to change the real estate industry, it became more clear why Hawaii Life is on Inman’s (and others’) radar. So much of the conversation was about the delicate balance of internet technology and the customer service on the ground… the people behind the curtain.

The future of real estate is being written by companies who are providing transparent, easy access to relevant information online AND excellent customer service on the ground… companies like Redfin, M Realty, and Hawaii Life.  At Hawaii Life, our core values of Smart Marketing and Solid Representation include these aspects.  Smart Marketing isn’t just about our online presence… and Solid Representation isn’t just about our commitment to superior customer service… but the way we’ve embraced these core values just happen to be what’s helping us to rewrite the future of Hawaii real estate.

Inman was awesome. There was so much to learn. I would recommend that any of our agents that could afford it should go. If you’re one of our competitors, then Inman sucked and please don’t go ;-)

It’s all about High Tech meets High Touch…. The most amazing tech tools in the world become useless in the hands of an inexperienced or part-time Realtor who doesn’t know how to actually conduct the business of real property transactions or how to connect with their clients in the “real” world.
