Nanawale Estates is a community on the east side of the Big Island that enjoys plentiful sun amid lush forests. This region is bordered to the north by Hawaiian Beaches and to the west by Pahoa. Nanawale Forest Reserve hugs the southern edge of the estates.

The 2018 lava flow impacted Leilani Estates directly south of Nanawale Estates, which remained untouched by the flows.
