Where Are You Getting Your Information?

Where are you getting your information before you decide to buy on Kauai? 

Judging by the conversations I heard all through 2025, you’d think the real estate market was on life support. 

Doom. Gloom. Disaster. “Just wait—it’s all going to crash.” Very dramatic. Very confident. As it turned out: Very wrong. 

The Data Tells a Different Story

Every month I’m over here looking at the actual data and the numbers are not walking like the talk is talking. 

I think about the people who would have bought, but didn’t, because they were convinced the market was going to obey the scary storyline they’d already bought into. They were waiting for the crash that never showed up. And that’s unfortunate. 

Just ask yourself, “Is the story in your head actually lined up with reality?”

Kauaʻi is a Micro-Market

On Kauai our inventory is so limited that the headlines don’t match up.

Making the move to buy or not buy is answered by drilling down. Here area matters. Property type matters. And the price range? That can completely change the story. Above $3 million may be soft. $1.2 million might be brutal. Condo sales might look challenged, until you look closer and see they’re quietly holding stronger than you think. 

It gets that specific. 

Fear Is Loud. Data Is Quiet.

But instead of looking at data, a lot of people relied on friends. Or Facebook. Or whatever dramatic news alert popped up that day. And let’s be honest, negative news sells. Fear is a powerful emotion. It gets clicks. Calm facts don’t. 

So while some people sat on the sidelines waiting for the apocalypse, other people stayed grounded, watched the numbers, and quietly made really smart moves in 2025.  

Stay Informed, Not Influenced

You don’t have to listen to me. Truly. Just make sure you’re listening to something real. 

Because opinions don’t move the market. Data does. And last year, on Kauai, the data told a very different story.
