Volunteers Needed for Adopt-A-Highway – Kaiwi Coast, Oahu – November 23

Aloha Hawaii Life Ohana,

We have a unique opportunity for you to experience the breathtaking Kaiwi coastline! The Hui Nalu Kaiwi Coast Run & Walk offers a chance to travel alongside what I believe is the most beautiful view in the world. We are looking for volunteers to help clean the highway during the event on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

Volunteers will meet at the Koko Head Elementary School parking lot at 5:45 a.m. From there, you will pick up your vest, garbage bags, and gloves before being dropped off at your designated cleaning area. This is a perfect chance to enjoy a peaceful sunrise and the scenery before the runners and walkers begin their journey. Each group generally cleans a 1/4 to 1/2 mile stretch. Once you are finished, you can enjoy a leisurely walk back to Maunalua Bay.

Anyone can volunteer, regardless of their affiliation with Hawaii Life! We need as many volunteers as possible, and we would be very grateful if you could share this post on your social media or forward it to your family and friends. It’s a truly special and rare opportunity to help our community, ocean, and environment.

Please remember to wear sunscreen, a hat, and bring water if you wish. There will also be beverage stations along the path providing juice and water.

Thank you for being a loyal or brand new Adopt A Highway volunteer!

To RSVP, please call Kim at 808.781.6600.

Aloha,

Kim
