Maui Weekend Events – October 24

Hawaii Food & Wine Festival

The Hawaii Food & Wine Festival is the premier epicurean event for the entire state of Hawaii! With events now spanning three different islands, it is a treat to be able to participate here on Maui in beautiful Kaanapali. The festivities span the entire weekend with events taking place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  The festival tees off Friday morning with the 27th Annual Roy Yamaguchi Golf Classic. Next, the festival takes us to the Sheraton Maui Resort and Spa for the World of Wagyu, Wine & Whiskey. This evening will feature the finest wagyu from around the world and paired with the best wine vintages and rarest barrel aged whiskeys.  Finally, the Maui portion of the HFWF finishes at the Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows with Southern Seafood Sunday hosted by Chef Aaron Sanchez. My own cousin Chef Troy Guard will be among the featured chefs for this epic seaside brunch.

Maui’s 2nd Annual Brazil Festival

This Saturday, we have the 2nd Annual Brazil Festival of Maui. The event will be held at the Paia Heritage Hall from 3 – 7 pm. Festival features delicious Brazilian soul food, music, kids’ games face painting, art and vendors. Entry tickets are $10. $30 will get you entry and food. Kids under 14 are free. Music by the incredible Marauak!

Festivals of Aloha

The Festival of Aloha Hana kicked off Monday and continues through the week closing out Saturday night with Hoike Night at the Hana Ballpark.

The Festival of Aloha picks up this weekend in Wailea at the Four Seasons. The opening ceremony begins on Friday at 9:45 pm in the lobby. Live Aloha vendors and Artisans will be available in the Lobby Lounge from 10:00 am – 5:30 pm on both Friday and Saturday. See demonstrations of traditional poi pounding and coconut weaving. Friday night feature is Carmen Hulu Lindsey Leo Ha‘iha‘i Falsetto Contest.  Saturday night feature is Hula is the Heartbeat showcasing some of Maui’s most prestigious Hālau at 6:00, with doors opening at 5 pm. The festival closes on Sunday with Sounds of the Sea, a free evening of Hawaiian music on the Oceanfront lawn starting at 6:00 pm.

Maui Jazz & Blues Festival

The Maui Jazz & Blues Festival is taking place this weekend at the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, offering an incredible lineup of world-class musicians in a stunning oceanfront setting. The festival will feature performances by acclaimed artists with music from 6 – 9 pm Friday and Saturday and a Sunday Jazzfest brunch. Attendees can look forward to soulful jazz and blues, delicious food and drinks available for purchase, and a vibrant atmosphere perfect for dancing and relaxing with friends. Don’t miss this unforgettable celebration of music and Maui’s local culture!

Tumua: The Chee-Hoo Tour

BAMP Project presents Tumua: The Chee-Hoo Tour this weekend at the MACC. The Saturday night show sold out, so a second show was added this Friday night. If you are not following him on Instagram, you are missing out on some regular laughs. These will be a great couple nights of laughs and good times with the community.

Ongoing and Upcoming Halloween Fun

Boos & Brews Halloween Cruise Ma’alaea

Pacific Whale Foundation will be offering a Boos & Brews Halloween Cruises this weekend and one next.  These will be 21+ cruises with live DJ, appetizers and cocktails as well as a costume contest with a grand prize.  A cruise will go out on the next two Saturday nights at 5:30. Check in time is 4:45.

The Rocky Horror Show at The Historic Iao TheaterOrrHo

The Rocky Horror Show is back at the Historic Iao Theater starring Eric Gillioim as Dr. Frank N Furter!  The show runs the next few weekends with the last show being November 2nd. Showtimes every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Halloween night. Showtimes are 7:30 pm Fridays and Saturdays and 3 pm on Sundays.

Kula Country Farms

The Kula Country Farms Pumpkin Patch is a beloved fall tradition on Maui, offering fun for families and visitors of all ages. You can visit the pumpkin patch throughout the month of October every day from 9 am – 4 pm. In addition to picking your perfect pumpkin, enjoy scenic upcountry views, a charming farm stand with local produce, and festive activities for kids. Be sure to bring your camera for memorable photo ops!

Frightmares: 7 Deadly Sins Haunted House

Maui Mall Village is hosting a haunted house this year! Head over for Frightmares: 7 Deadly Sins for the next few weekends through Halloween. The haunted house will run Thursday – Saturday from 7 am – 9 pm starting this week with the last day being Saturday, November 1st.

Halloween Hang Ten

Surf Shack Maui is hosting the Halloween Hang Ten again this year from Kalama Park on Halloween day. This was such a fun event last year, they decided to annualize it. Festivities from 7 am – 1 pm. This is a free community event and all ages are welcome. There will be winners for costume, best wave, and best photo. Dress up in your best Halloween costume. Discounted rental and lesson rates!

MIL Football

This weekend, we have the final games of MIL football season. Friday night, King K travels to play KS Maui at home. Saturday night, Baldwin plays Lahainaluna in Lahaina. Game start is 7:00 pm for both games.

Real Estate

As of October 22nd, we have 244 pending out of the 1784 total for 13.6% under contract. That is around a 6% increase this month in sales! I’ve had more calls for showings on listings, and a few new Sellers interested. Rates are a bit lower as well. I am here to go over these figures and discuss your plans for real estate on Maui.
