From live music and magic shows to seasonal festivities and outdoor adventures, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Read on to discover what’s happening and start planning your perfect Maui weekend!

Molokaʻi Hoe

Men’s Channel full on FOMO. Praying for wind for all of you in the Molokaʻi Hoe. Imua Hawaiian and all of the Maui Nui competitors!

The Molokaʻi Hoe will be held this Sunday. This is one of Hawaii’s most storied canoe races, first held in 1952, making it a tradition that spans over seven decades. This grueling race challenges teams to paddle across the Kaʻiwi Channel from Molokaʻi to Oahu, celebrating the ancient Hawaiian sport of outrigger canoeing and the enduring spirit of teamwork and endurance.

Kolohe Kai Album Release Tour 2025

Kolohe Kai, known for their uplifting island reggae sound, will be performing at the MACC this weekend as part of their Album Release Tour 2025. The show is scheduled for Friday night at 6 pm. Gates open at 5 pm. Food and Beverage available for purchase on the Events Lawn. Guests are encouraged to arrive early for parking and to enjoy pre-show activities.

Magic in Paradise

ProArts Maui and Mana’o Radio present Magic in Paradise starring Maui’s own, David Kuraya! David performed regularly at the renowned Warren & Annabelle’s Magic Nightclub in Lahaina before the fires and is an elite magician and active community member. Show is this Saturday night at 7:30 pm.

Kula Country Farms

The Kula Country Farms Pumpkin Patch is a beloved fall tradition on Maui, offering fun for families and visitors of all ages. You can visit the pumpkin patch throughout the month of October every day from 9 am – 4 pm. In addition to picking your perfect pumpkin, enjoy scenic upcountry views, a charming farm stand with local produce, and festive activities for kids. Be sure to bring your camera for memorable photo ops!

Whale Watch Tours

Whale watch season is here! If you’re interested in whale watching on Maui, there are several excellent options to choose from:

  • Pacific Whale Foundation Eco-Adventures: Departing from Maʻalaea Harbor, these tours offer spacious ships, onboard naturalists, and hydrophones to listen to whale songs. Tours typically run multiple times daily during whale season and include educational commentary about humpback whales and Maui’s marine life. They also offer sunset dinner cruises and cocktail cruises during whale season.
  • Trilogy Excursions: Trilogy offers a deluxe sunset sail from Kaanapali and Maalaea Harbor. Trilogy provides smaller group experiences with panoramic views and comfortable seating. Guests enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages.
  • Pride of Maui: Also departing from Maʻalaea Harbor, Pride of Maui offers a large, stable vessel ideal for families and groups. Features include an open upper deck, shaded cabin seating, and expert guides who share insights about whale behaviors and conservation efforts. This tour includes lunch and drinks and one hour of snorkeling in prime locations.

All of these options run from December through April, which is peak humpback whale season on Maui. Early morning tours often have smoother waters and excellent viewing conditions. Advance reservations are recommended, especially on weekends.

Halloween Hang Ten

This event is not happening this weekend, but I wanted to get it on your radar early in the month. Surf Shack Maui is hosting the Halloween Hang Ten again this year at Kalama Park. This was such a fun event last year, they decided to annualize it.  Festivities from 7 am – 1 pm. This is a free community event and all ages are welcome. There will be prizes for best costume, best wave, best photo and more. Dress up in your best Halloween costume and join the fun. Drinks and snacks provided. Discounted rental and lesson rates!  For additional information please follow SurfShackMaui on Instagram or call 808-875-0006. I will be updating with more detail as we get closer to the event as well.

MIL Football

We have two MIL football games this weekend. Friday night, Lahainaluna is home against Maui High.  Saturday night, Baldwin travels to Kink K. Game start is 7:00 pm for both games.

Anything Else This Weekend or Next?

I am always looking to promote other weekend activities for Maui organizations. If we are missing anything, drop me a line any time for future happenings. Mahalo!!!

Real Estate

The uptick in pendings seems to be holding and latest numbers we are up to 12.8%. As of September 24, we have 1559 active listings and 229 pending. Rates are improving and I am getting more inquiries so that is an optimistic sign.

Anticipated interest rate cuts would make mortgages more affordable, potentially boosting buyer demand and creating renewed momentum in Maui’s real estate market. Lower rates may also encourage sellers and investors to re-enter the market, with positive ripple effects across local businesses and the broader island economy.

The future of vacation rentals remains uncertain. Lenders, investors, property owners, sellers, buyers, as well as businesses such as restaurants, farmers, cleaning services, landscapers, and activity providers—all sectors across Maui—will be impacted. I’ve persevered and navigated the local market, helping Buyers and Sellers alike. If you have questions, I am your real estate resource.

I have been busy working on a project that will be coming to market soon. 20 acres of ocean view organic farmland in Waiehu! I’m so excited to share Kuawa Olu with you all. Stay tuned!

Kula I’o 15 acres. 7+ acres buildable area offers lots of options.
