Brigit & Bernard’s Garden Cafe is keeping Oktoberfest going this weekend with Friday and Saturday evening celebrations at 335 Ho‘ohana Street in Kahului. Doors open at 6 pm, with the live oompah band, German buffet, and Oktoberfest beers all part of the fun. The all-you-can-eat buffet is $85 per person, plus tax and gratuity, with drinks and dessert extra; reservations are a good idea by phone or OpenTable. If you’re craving schnitzel, beer, and a little Bavarian-style fun on Maui, this is an easy one to add to the weekend list. Learn more at Brigit & Bernard’s Garden Cafe.

Celebrating the Life of Kai Bartlett

The Maui paddling community will gather at Kahului Harbor this weekend to celebrate the life of canoe designer, champion paddler, mentor, and father Kai Bartlett. Saturday, October 17, begins with the Kai Waʻa Strong Race from Maliko at 11 am, alongside an inclusive harbor time trial, followed around 2 pm by a paddle out, awards, and live music. On Sunday, October 18, a Celebration of Life begins at 10 am at Hawaiian Canoe Club, followed by lunch and entertainment. All are welcome to attend one or both days. Learn more at Kai Bartlett Foundation.

Anything Else This Weekend or Next?

I am always looking to promote other weekend activities for Maui organizations. If we are missing anything, drop me a line any time for future happenings. Mahalo!!!

I have been busy working on a project that will be coming to market soon. 20 acres of ocean view organic farmland in Waiehu! I’m so excited to share Kuawa Olu with you all. Stay tuned!

If Kuawa Ola isn’t for you, here is a nearby listing that we at Hawaii Life also represents

Lower Waiehu Beach Road has MLS 406777 closer to the beach. 5-bedroom home with 2-bedroom ohana across street from the ocean. Great 2 story home has been a successful investment property.  It would also be a great owner-occupied home offering easy beach access for nearby surfing, fishing, strolls. Close to everything in town. It’s a great area.
