Maui Weekend Events – August 29

Aloha friends! Ready to make the most of your Maui weekend? Whether you’re a longtime local or just visiting paradise for a few golden days, there’s a world of live music, scenic gatherings, and unique experiences calling your name. From relaxing afternoons filled with island rhythms to sunset celebrations and mouth-watering food, here’s your guide to what’s happening around the Valley Isle.

Sundays in the Country – Above Snakes

Above Snakes is the feature of this Sundays in the Country presentation! Sundays in the Country is presented by Aloha Growers and JMoPro. The series celebrates the history of live performances at Casanova’s in Makawao every Sunday from 1 – 3 pm. Doors open at 11:30 am.  Special food and drink menu available during the show.

Live Music at Mulligan’s on the Blue

Mulligan’s is one of my favorite places for sunset, dinner and a show. This weekend, we have three nights of live music to choose from. Joe Caro’s Friday Night Live come to the Mulligan’s stage this Friday from 7:30 – 9:30 pm to recreate his legendary NYC jam sessions. Willy Wainright plays on Saturday from 6 – 8 pm. And finally on Sunday, local favorite Island Soul takes the stage from 5 – 8 pm. Dinner seating starts at 5 pm. Reservations recommended.

Sunset Sundays

Gail Swanson and Pat Simmons will be the performers at Ocean Organic Farm and Distillery for this Sunset Sunday. Show from 3:45 – 7 pm.  Tickets $10 and reservations are recommended. You can make reservations at the Farm Café.

Champagne Hale at Cliff House

kapalua bay resort

The Montage at Kapalua Bay will be seating the Champagne Hale at Cliff House this weekend. The pop up at Cliff House with epic views, champagne and pupus is the perfect way to cap off a day at the beach or pool. They offer a two-hour experience with seating at 5 – 7 pm on Friday and Saturday this weekend.

Anything Else This Weekend or Next?

I am always looking to promote other weekend activities for Maui organizations. If we are missing anything, drop me a line any time for future happenings. Mahalo!!!

Real Estate

As we look ahead, there’s growing anticipation that interest rates may be cut in the near future. Such reductions could make mortgages more affordable, potentially boosting buyer demand and creating renewed momentum in Maui’s real estate market. Lower rates may also encourage sellers and investors to re-enter the market, with positive ripple effects across local businesses and the broader island economy.

The future of vacation rentals remains uncertain. Lenders, investors, property owners, sellers, buyers, as well as businesses such as restaurants, farmers, cleaning services, landscapers, and activity providers—all sectors across Maui—will be impacted. I’ve persevered and navigated the local market, helping Buyers and Sellers alike. If you have questions, I am your real estate resource.

The numbers have not changed much since our last update. As of August 28, we have 1589 active listings and 223 pending. That is 12.3% pending currently. I am getting more inquiries so that is an optimistic sign.
