Agricultural Micro Grant Program 6.0
Before we get into the weekend fun, I wanted to make sure you all were aware of the latest grant opportunity from Maui Economic Opportunity (MEO). The Agricultural Micro Grant Program 6.0 offers financial support to small-scale farmers and ranchers on Maui, Molokai, and Lanai. Eligible applicants can receive grants up to $25,000 to help with expenses such as equipment, supplies, and business development, making it easier for local growers to thrive and contribute to the island’s food sustainability.
The Wizard of Oz (Movie)

The Wizard of Oz is showing this Saturday at the historic Iao Theater. There will be two screenings, one at 2 pm and one at 7 pm, offering families and movie lovers two chances to experience this timeless classic on the big screen. The Iao Theater provides a charming setting to enjoy the beloved story of Dorothy, Toto, and their journey down the yellow brick road to Oz. Tickets are just $10-20 each, making it an affordable day or evening out. With its memorable songs, iconic characters, and enchanting adventure, The Wizard of Oz remains a magical favorite for all ages.
HeartFest Maui
HeartFest Maui is happening this weekend at the YMCA, bringing the community together for a celebration focused on family fun, and heart health. The event features interactive activities for all ages, live entertainment, local food vendors, and educational booths offering resources on healthy living. Highlights include group fitness classes, kids’ games, and heart health screenings provided by local professionals. HeartFest Maui takes place on Saturday from 10 am – 4 pm Maui Family YMCA, making it a perfect way to spend the day connecting with neighbors and supporting a great cause right in the heart of Maui.
Groundation
Groundation, a renowned band known for blending roots reggae with jazz-inspired improvisation, is bringing their signature sound to Da Playground Maui this weekend to pay tribute to Bob Marley. The show is set for Sunday night, and doors open at 7 pm. Tickets are GA and priced at $45 with VIP add ons available. Groundation’s vibrant performances are celebrated for their soulful vocals, intricate musicianship, and powerful messages, promising an unforgettable evening for Maui music lovers.
Super Bowl Sunday!
Diamonds Bar and Grill
Diamonds will be hosting the Super Bowl. Admission is $55 and gets you $25 credit toward food and drink and a choice of seat at bar or table. Make your reservation in person. Cash only.
MACC
The MACC is showing The Big Game both indoors in vivid HD on the huge screen in the Castle Theater and outside in the Pavilion on a high-tech LED screen. No coolers, outside food/beverages or tailgating permitted. However, hot and cold beverages available in the courtyard before and during the game. Food trucks will also be on hand with snacks, pupus, lunches and desserts. Kanekoa will be performing before and after the game. Gates open at noon. This is a free event. No tickets or reservations required.
Kahului Ale House
Boasting 69 High Definition TV’s and 5 zones of sound, the Kahului Ale House is a great choice to catch the big game. They will be offering their full extensive menu. They are not charging a cover for this event however, reservations are highly recommended as they expect to fill up fast.
Ka’anapali Kick-off Watch Party- The Westin Maui Resort & Spa
Ka’anapali Kickoff Watch Party at Westin Maui will feature food, drinks, and entertainment across all the outlets including The Valley Alley, Hale Mo‘olelo, and Hale ‘Ā. Party starts at 1 pm. Large screen TV’s will be strategically placed for best viewing.
At halftime, the 3rd annual Hot Wing Challenge will take place near Shave Ice Truck right off Hale Mo’olelo. Eight participants will get to join Hotel Manager Selawe and Executive Chef Tim in a spice tolerance challenge so see who can finish ten very spicy wings the fastest. Prizes for top three.
MIL Sports
Big Weekend in MIL Sports for Seabury Hall last weekend taking the championship in both Division II Paddling and Division II Basketball! Congrats to all the competitors and their families!
King Kekaulike’s soccer team continues to impress, especially with their standout player who’s rumored to be playing at a semi-pro level, making waves on the field this season. Molokai has also shown strong performances, particularly in basketball, where both Division 1 and Division 2 teams across the league have been delivering exciting matchups and showcasing some serious talent.
Congrations also in order for all the players and paddlers representing Maui and their schools at the HhSAA competitions. We are proud of you as you continue to strive for your best!

As of January 22nd, we have 1674 active and 242 pending listings. 12.6% under contract, which is about where we’ve been holding. Assuming this still reflects the effects of Bill 9, it’s likely the market excluding condos is doing a few points better. Rates are improving as well.
