Grossly Over-Assessed Honolulu Property Taxes

A recent study reveals that the Honolulu Real Property Assessment Division (RPAD) over assessed (and over taxed) around 68,600 residential property owners by 5% to 75% for the current tax year.

When property owners receive their assessment notice this month for 2026/2027, they should review it closely. If they think it might be over market value, they should appeal prior to January 15. Contact your Realtor for assistance.
