Not quite yet ready to buy a home? The Waterfront at Pu’uloa may be just the ticket! So maybe you are new to Hawaii, or new to Oahu, and not quite sure yet where you might want to purchase and settle. Renting may be a better option for the here and now…and that’s a good idea!

Your entry to the Waterfront!

Doing your research on the different towns and neighborhoods on Oahu and what each has to offer is a smart choice to make. So, until I can find you that perfect place for you to purchase, let’s talk rentals! There are several different avenues you can pursue concerning rentals – many good rental management companies.

The Waterfront at Pu’uloa: An Oahu Beachfront Gated Community

My very favorite rental option on Oahu is The Waterfront at Pu’uloa in Ewa Beach. It’s a beachfront gated community located on Iroquois Point at the mouth of Pearl Harbor.

Formerly Pearl Harbor Naval Base housing, while still government property, the management has been privatized and rentals are now available to the civilian population as well. It’s a lovely community with private access to one of the loveliest beaches on the west side of Oahu with views of Diamond Head and the Honolulu cityscape.

It was a great community, i used to live there, but in the last 9 months prices have gone up considerably, there may even be grounds for a price fixing case with Royal Kunia apartments. Just from Feb to April alone, a 4 bed town home went from 1800 to 2800!!! Also long term residents and families are not having their leases renewed so that Carmel can renovate the units. Every townhome resident whos lease was up for renewal in June 2015 has been given a notice that their lease will not be renewed. makes me sick as I have always recommened people to this place, but the last 9 month have proved very negative.

I have been searching for a long term rental in Oahu, my husband is retired navy but hoping for a DOD position on one of the bases there. We don’t need anything large, but a place to call home and I can’t find rentals that are what we need. Half of the ones I find on multiple sites seem to be scams. Is there any agency there that are legit and will help us find a home. I would rather have a small house with outside area, but will consider condo’s,townhomes or apartments if they are in a safe area. We have had no luck and reply to emails we have sent. Help a veteran and his wife find their piece of paradise where we can make a definite change our lives.
