Kapaa town is centrally located on Kauai’s east side and offers locals and visitors a variety of activities, shopping, and dining. Also known as Kauai’s “Coconut Coast,” Kapaa is a nice town to call home. Many homes are available in this area and can be purchased at more affordable prices compared to other areas on Kauai. There are many other things to love about living in Kapaa. Here are just a few reasons to LOVE living in Kapaa:

1. Old Kapaa Town Art Walk

On the first Saturday of the month the Kapaa town strip is filled with the sounds of Tahitian drumming, smells of delicious local food, and visions of the beautiful work from Kauai artists. What started out as an art walk only has now become more of a monthly street fair. Businesses stay open late to showcase local artists and serve ono (good) food. You may even catch fire knife and Tahitian dancers – if you are lucky enough to get a view close enough through the crowd!

2. Kapaa Bike Path

Ke Ala Hele Makalae is Hawaiian for “The Path that goes by the Coast,” and describes this beautiful multi-use path that will eventually follow the coast from Nawiliwili to Anahola. The trail offers access to recreation areas and beautiful beaches. Currently, the path stretches 7 miles along the Coconut Coast, from Ahihi Point to Lydgate Beach. Work is in progress to build a trail that links the segments between Kapaa and Wailua.

3. Java Kai

Simply the best coffee and bakery in Kapaa! Serving up delicious coffee and pastries for breakfast and lunch, Java Kai also showcases pieces by local artists.

4. A Ell Boutique

A Ell is a treasure found in the heart of the Kapaa strip. The owner, Angie Ell, features her own designs as well as other local designers. From clothing to jewelry to accessories and gifts, you are sure to find something unique here.
