Tastes of Hawaii Recipe – Dutch Baby Breakfast Dish From Kauai’s Old Plantation Days

Week 25—Dutch Baby Breakfast Dish!

Dutch Baby Breakfast Recipe

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 3 eggs
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ¾ cup flour

Toppings (Optional):

  • Hawaiian jams
  • Jellies
  • Syrups or honey
  • Powdered sugar and lemon juice
  • Fresh or heated fruit

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Melt butter in a 2-3 quart frying pan or shallow baking dish. Beat eggs for one minute (today you can use a food processor or blender), gradually adding milk and flour. Pour batter into hot buttered pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Serve immediately with your choice of toppings. Makes 4 servings. This recipe doubles well using a 5 quart pan.
