On Tuesday night, April 5th, those of us who attended were treated to a feast of the senses—the music, the color, the dancing…fabulous! A fundraiser for Hawaii Performing Arts Festival’s 2011 season, the five musicians were funny, sad, gleeful, thoughtful, and oh-so talented.
The dancers changed clothes no less than five times, each more gorgeous than the last. At the end, I felt like I could dance tango! But of course, there are a lot of things that I think I can do…instead, we enjoyed another perfect evening on the Big Island’s Kohala Coast. Culture, warm weather, good friends…How does it get better than this?
Katie, we are so lucky to have this type of fun events on the Big Island! Karen told me she went with you and the evening was spectacular. For Tango lovers, Carlos Barrionuevo & Mayte Valdez are on island for a special performance (check the following link for additional info: http://www.dancekona.com/Tango.html)
@Catherine – you are so right, we’re so lucky! I never knew that I would enjoy Tango so much, it’s not anything I’d been exposed to in the past – outside of Spain, but that’s really Flamenco, not Tango, I think?? Next time, you should come with us!
