On Kauai, most of the HOAs are foreclosing for $1 quite quickly, then attempting to rent the unit until the bank forecloses, thus reclaiming some of the $$$ they are in arrears from the lack of HOA payments. Interesting times...</description>

		<description>Very informative post, Ron.  Our Hawaii Life team on the Big Island has also been successful on both sides of short sale transactions.  I&#039;d like to add that if someone is considering buying a condominium as a short sale, the Seller is also most likely behind on their homeowner association dues.  You would be surprised how many short sale listing agents fail to open a conversation with the HOA representatives, who will also have to be satisfied along with the lender.
