Max’s background as a Chief Financial Officer in the hospitality industry and his 30+-year experience as a restaurateur provided him with a unique edge in the real estate market. He knows the importance of community and connection, as exemplified by his long-standing commitment to the island and its people. Max loves working with first-time homebuyers, using his knowledge and experience to guide them through one of the biggest investments of their lives. A memorable moment in his career was helping a family secure their first home, where a young boy’s dream of a blue room became a reality—a reminder that the heart of real estate lies in the people it serves.

Max’s commitment to the community extends beyond real estate. He’s an active member of the Waimea Community Association, the Waimea Resilience Hub and a leader of Hawaii Community Foundation's Richard Smart funded hui (group) has served on the Board of Directors of the Hawaii Island Board of Realtors. During the pandemic, Max prepared and delivered 250 meals to homebound seniors weekly for a year. That is 13,000 meals—showing his deep rooted care for his community.

Max is also passionate about the culinary arts. He and his son, a celebrity chef, work together to share their love of food with the community, creating a unique connection between his work as a chef and his work in real estate. Whether helping a client find a dream kitchen or blogging about local food traditions, Max brings his love of Hawaii into everything he does.
