Haliimaile rests at a 1,000-foot elevation in Upcountry Maui. Just outside of the community, Haleakala Highway leads northwest to Kahului and towns in Central Maui, and southeast to the Upcountry communities of Pukalani and Makawao.

This plantation community started to grow with the booming pineapple industry in the first part of the 1900’s. Maui Gold Pineapple Plantation is still in operation, with land alongside the residential neighborhoods and small set of commercial buildings in town. The buildings hold Haliimaile Pineapple, Haliimaile General Store, and a handful of local businesses.

Options abound in this quaint Upcountry region. Closest to Haleakala Highway is the neighborhood of Hookula, a new community of 196 single-family homes with six unique four-bedroom models. Between Makomako Street and Leie Street are comfortable mid to large sized single-family homes in the town’s established neighborhood.

Further up Haliimaile Road are the contemporary turnkey homes in Baldwin Ranch Estates, offering impressive views of Maui’s north facing shores.

Kahului town and the airport are quite accessible, just a 20-minute drive down the road. Or head the other direction and reach Pukalani or Makawao in half the time.
