This east side town, who’s name means “solid” in Hawaiian, is the most populous town on Kauai. Just 8 miles from the airport, and known locally for boasting some of the island’s best restaurants and shopping, Kapaa offers both beauty and convenience. It’s been called by Hawaii magazine “Kauai’s most charming town” and it’s charm is especially seen in vibrant Old Kapaa town’s weekly markets, live music, and Kauai-made artisanal shops.

Ocean front properties, a majority being condominium projects, along the east coastline, present pleasant trade winds and beautiful views. As a bonus, many of the homes down in the lower elevations of Kapaa offer easy access to the famous Ke Ala Here Makalae coastal bike path. This “path that goes along the coast” stretches over 9 miles and is known for inspiring sunrises, multiple beach access points including Kealia and Donkey beaches, and whale watching during the winter months.

Mountainside properties are found nestled all throughout Kapaa’s 10 square miles of lush green land that once was home to pineapple, rice, and sugar plantations.

Kapaa’s tropical landscape is also home to a variety of hiking trails and breathtaking waterfalls. These scenic neighborhoods have numerous fruit and vegetable stands and tropical plant nurseries. Kapaa is also home to Kauai’s Hindu monastery which offers daily tours of the gorgeous grounds and temples.
