REALTOR BROKER

As a real estate broker on the Big Island, I treat my clients' needs as I would my own. Since receiving my license in 2014, my straight forward approach has led to return clients and referrals, allowing real estate to be my sole career since the day I began. I’ve acted as a Broker-In Charge of a boutique firm, and a Broker Associate in an internationally competitive firm. Through these experiences, I have learned the ins and outs from some of the best in the business. I have helped my clients through stressful situations, turning them into successful transactions. Now, I’m a great resource when it comes time to selling properties and finding the right home for new & experienced buyers.

I’m originally from Tokyo, Japan, and was raised on Maui from an early age. In 2012, I made what was intended to be a temporary visit to the Big Island, and I’ve lived here ever since! I eventually found my way to the Hamakua Coast where I’ve spent the last 11 years. I spend most of my spare time with my partner Darya and our son Keanu, w/ our adored dogs, working and tending to our off grid family homestead in Laupahoehoe, or enjoying my passion -- partner dancing. I also love to explore the island - hiking, surfing, camping, freshwater swimming, and so much more. I have a deep love and understanding of the islands and enjoy the opportunity to share what I know with clients; it’s why I feel so lucky to help people in their time of transition.

What my clients are saying...

I highly recommend Dan for any and all of your real estate needs. He has assisted me in buying and selling several homes over the years. He is extremely dependable, showing up on time and following through when there are issues to look into. He also values communication and keeps me informed about the closing process. Having tried several different real estate agents before finding Dan I can honestly say that communication and dependability are not valued equally by all agents. I am not only a client of Dan's but I am also a real estate appraiser and consider Dan a great resource for local information and greatly appreciate the fact that I can contact him when I have questions and know that I will be able to reach him. Dan's a great guy and easy to work with and when he is representing me I am confident that he has my best interest in mind.

— Steve & Karri Freeney

We had been trying to find a home off and on for 3 years. When we began working with Dan, we immediately knew we were in good hands. He was very thorough and eager to help. He was honest and upfront about the process and all involved as well as his own knowledge and limitations. Whenever he did not know the answer to one of our questions, he told us so then would not rest until he had found the answer for us. We were looking for a home in an area he was unfamiliar with, but he quickly familiarized himself and used his connections to find out everything he needed to know. He readily accommodated our schedule and we were confident in the process knowing he was representing us
