Talk Story #39 – Waikiki Parade Includes Bands, Happy People, and ‘Leprechauns’

Hawaii is a blend of many peoples from all over the world. Visitors and ‘kama’ainas’ alike enjoy the various parades and festivities year ’round. It is mid-March, so this day was an Irish St. Patrick’s celebration!

I took the quick 10 min. bus ride from Ala Moana Shopping Center, and wearing the traditional color of shamrock green, joined in with throngs to watch the various enthusiastic entrants pass by along Kalakaua Ave. The parade started at the Fort DeRussy grounds and ended by the Kapiolani Park near Diamond Head.
