Golf Tournament to Benefit Waikoloa School's Music Program

The Waikoloa Village Golf Club, along with the Waikoloa Elementary and Middle School, present this fundraiser for the Waikoloa Elementary and Middle School’s new music program on Saturday, April 16, 2011.

The goal of this tournament is to present a focal point for parents, music fans, Waikoloa Village homeowners, political awareness, and Big Island residents that a school MUSIC program is non-existent in the curriculum of our Waikoloa Elementary and Middle School.

What an opportunity to raise funds, while having fun playing golf with family members or friends, and getting a small budget going to bring some music to our kids ears! There are multiple ways it could be done (depending on how much money is raised) via a field trip to a concert, or by hiring a music teacher, or by bringing some instruments to the school.

Parents and teachers know that these arts programs are more than just extracurricular fun, they help children develop important skills, both practical and social, that will help them become more well-adjusted and well-rounded people. So, if you want to do the best you can to help Waikoloa Elementary and Middle School create a new music program, you will have a chance to participate in this upcoming golf tournament, or simply donate.

Register for this 2-person best ball event by completing the form. Turn in entries at the Waikoloa School office, the Waikoloa Village Golf Shop, or contact Kim at (808) 628-7447 for additional information.

Registration includes lunch after golf, on course pupus and drinks, prizes, a donation to benefit the Waikoloa Elementary School and auction (I heard about the opportunity to bid on 8 rounds of golf at the Mauna Kea Golf Course and 2 rounds at Hualalai Golf Course). Check in at 7 a.m., shotgun begins at 7:30 a.m.

Let’s get together and orchestrate this event and bring harmony to our kids…

Can you make a donation if you are not a golfer?

Way to go Mama! Music is so IMPORTANT and life would be so boring without it! Sounds like a wonderful and fun event! I wish we could attend! If you ever need a volunteer drummer you know who to call!
