Waikiki Edition is the Ilikai's New Neighbor on Oahu

Right next door to the Ilikai is The Waikiki Edition, one of the hottest new spots in Honolulu.

It’s not too often I get out in the evenings these days, however, after our Kahala office opening party last month, I headed over to The Waikiki Edition to join some of the Hawaii Life crew that was in town to see what all the “buzz” was about. We enjoyed a fabulous meal at Morimoto. The architecture and decor in the hotel are a breath of fresh life into this dated building.

The Waikiki Edition used to be linked with the Ilikai. It’s a shame they’re no longer together. They’re also in the middle of a lawsuit regarding an easement. It’s too bad. I think the two hotels could complement each other well. Although they are bickering now, I think the Edition being open can only help the Ilikai.

Since the Ilikai has had its share of financial woes with lawsuits the last few years, we’ve noticed an uptick in prices there. We’re not sure when banks will start lending there again. Regardless, cash buyers have been snatching up Ilikai units regardless of available financing or not.

Whether you have interest in purchasing a condo at the Ilikai, somewhere else in Waikiki, or anywhere else on Oahu, I’d recommend staying at the Edition on your next visit, and contact one of our great agents on Oahu for your real estate needs.

David!! We had SO MUCH FUN at the Edition!! As you know, Jan and I and Dave and Michele and Chad LOVED our experience there, what an incredible hotel! Next time I’m over we should go take a look at an Ilikai unit, it’s been a long time since I’ve been inside one… because you know it’s going to be very difficult to get me to stay any place else in “the city” ever again!! Morimoto’s was a blast – what an awesome night, thanks for inviting us to the Grand Opening party!
